Speaking of Discworld I loved the first game release http://www.gamesgizmo.com/a-golden-classic-discworld - to bad they don’t make that kind of games anymore
Have to laugh a bit looking back at this originally posted just over 6 years ago.
I used to trade stocks a decade ago and had a 3 monitor system that was the envy of all my friends. 3 giant CRT monitors taking up all the real estate space on my desk, lol.
Now I have gone the opposite way, trying to use as little as that prescious desk top real estate for the monitor, which is sort of funny. I will try to find a couple of old pics of my old system and post them at my personal site lethbridgerealestateblog.com , I was so proud of it, haha.
Sorry about that, the link to my personal blog for those pics didnt work right. The pics will be at:

or if that doesnt work I will give up in frustration and post them on flickr instead, lol.
Having recently switched back from a dual-monitor setup to a single monitor, I’ve noticed a considerable increase in productivity. Two screens makes you feel good but it’s not for the right reasons.
Use Spaces or Multiple Desktops or Dexpot or some such to work with multiple workspaces on the same, large monitor and notice that:
- it’s easier to focus as you have fewer distractions visible
- you don’t have to waste time and money setting up and maintaining multiple monitors or complex graphics cards
- you need less desk-space
- you can use hot-keys to switch between desk-tops rather than drifting across them with a mouse
- you use your mouse less (mice are slow!)
- you aren’t hidden away behind a bank of screens, so people talk to you!
- being productive is more important to you and your company than fancy, over-engineered hardware solutions.
Buy one big screen and use it wisely.
Jeff, at the time you wrote this, only about two percent of workstations used multi-monitors.
Actually, I don’t multi-monitor usage has increased much in six years!
Still, I think they’ll become more ubiquitous in the future. I think it will pick-up over 7 steps: http://www.kevinkane.com/2010/10/7-predictions-for-the-future-of-computers/
Multiple Monitors really provide great usability to a windows computer, http://www.murgee.com/MurGeeMon/ can be really useful when using dual monitors.
I’m currently have three monitors in my <a href="http://scottsdaleazrealestate.co/>Scottsdale real estate business. I use to have it but it seems so unnatural because my neck got tired of turning around every time there’s a notification on each PC. I’ll try that three specs and I’ll see if would fit on me.
People say there’s some sort of law of diminishing returns, but I haven’t found it yet. My 7-screen setup is working just fine for me
