Steve Mann, Cyborg

Call that a cyborg? There’s a difference between looking like a cyborg, and being a cyborg.

Professor Kevin Warrick of the University of Reading in the UK is a true cyborg…

Jeez… The “genius” bars has never been set so low.

Maybe he hasn’t updated his wearable computer because he met a human female and she won’t let him go outside looking like a retard?

Amen Kai Tain! I was about to say the same thing. The guy is a complete dork who makes everyone in the technology industry look bad.

Do we really need to be putting people like this up on a pedestal?

He has done some neat stuff with hydraulophones (water music).

I’ve been in his class - and he is definitely weird - but extremely creative and very provocative. He addresses a lot of social issues, some of which we are only becoming aware of now. A non-conformist.

At least he changed clothes after wearing them from 1991 till 1995.

He went to work for Skynet.

One very consequential thing happened in 2012 related to Steve

Given that bodycams are getting really cheap and tiny – small enough that the $299 Facebook recording sunglasses introduced today aren’t really distinguishable from regular sunglasses – expect to see “everything is recorded” hit new heights in the next decade.
